Abstract

Zeolite 4A has the potential absorption of heavy metals Fe. It synthesized from flyash of palm, reactant materials used in the synthesis of zeolite 4A is the sodiumsilicate and sodium aluminate. Sodium silicate solution made from fly ash melt 25grams of oil and 62,5 g NaOH dried at a temperature of 500 °C for 5 hours. Themethod that being used in the Fe metal adsorption process is a batch method. Thisresearch begins with the equilibrium curve to determine the optimum contact time.Analysis of adsorption results performed by AAS. The parameters used in thisresearch is the first concentration of 100 ppm, the stirring speed of 150 rpm, a doseof 1 gram of zeolite 4A, the variation in pH of the solution (4, 5, 6, 7 and 8) and thetemperature (30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 °C). The results showed that the time to achievethe equilibrium state in 4 hours, with the highest percentage of Fe absorbed 98,0%at pH 6 and room temperature (≈ 30 °C).
