Abstract

Endophytic bacteria are bacteria that live in plant tissues and it is not becomeparasite to the host. Endophytic bacteria produce some bioactive compound thatidentical to the host even more high amount. Root of dahlia (Dahlia variabilis) hasmany beneficial effects to human health, such as antibacterial and antifungi.Thereis no study about endophytic bacteria from the roots of dahlia (Dahlia variabilis) toproduce metabolite secondary, therefor need to do a screening of endophyticbacteria from root of dahlia. This study was done continuously. First step isisolation of endophitic bacteria from steril dahlia by directing plate to NA. secondstep is identification of endophytic bacteria by microscopic and macroscopic andalso biochemical test. The result of isolation is 12 isolate of endophityc bacteria.Gram stain show that endophityc bacteria is gram negative. The biochemical testshowed that 8 isolate endophytic bacteria is Pseudomonas stutzeri bacteria, 2isolate is Pseudomonas cepacia bacteria and 2 isolate is Pseudomonasstutzeri/Pseudomonas cepacia.
