Abstract


The effort to get a good oil palm seedling and quality is through the nursery, wherethe soil as the growing medium should be able to provide optimal nutrients forseedling growth. Ones of the problem to develop peat land as plantation land is lowdecomposition of it. Cellulolytic microorganism has ability to grow on cellulose andcan decomposite material of that cellulose. This research is aimed to know theoptimal necessity of water by using cellulolytic microorganism to enhance thegrowth of oil palm seed on peat siol as the growth media. This research wasconducted at an area with peat soil as growth media taken from desa Rimbo PanjangKab. Kampar Province of Riau by Factorial Completely Randomized Design withthree replication. The first factor consist of: 0, 10, 20 and 30 (ml/polybag) ofcellulolytic microorganism. The second factor consist of: 2, 3 and 4 (times/day)watering The result showed that using cellulolytic microorganism with frequency ofwatering can improve peat soi fertilization and increase nutrient up-take of N,P,K.Using 20 ml of cellulolytic microorganism with several frequency of watering createthe best growth of oil palm seed that is 28% of average increment of tall of plant and27% of average stem around accorded to standard of seed growth from PPKS. Usingcellulolytic microorganism only increase 14% of average tall of plant and 13% ofaverage stem around, whereas frequency of watering only can’t increase growth ofoil palm seed, number of leaf still under standard of oil palm seed of growthaccorded to PPKS
