PENENTUAN POTENSI DAN TINGKAT PEMANFAATAN SUMBERDAYA PERIKANAN DI PERAIRAN BENGKALIS

Abstract

Fisheries potential and rate of exploitation in Bengkalis Waters was evaluated in 2009.Bengkalis Waters which area was 11.481,77 km2 had the total waters potencyapproximately 17,886.2 ton / year. Based on its commody, the potency of big plagicspecies was 1,073 tonnes/year, small plagic species 9,544.8 tonnes/year, demersal species5,339.4 tonnes/year and shrimp was about 738.7 tonnes/year. The total exploitation in2009 in Bengkalis waters was aprroximately 46,006 tons/year or 383.8%. Small plagicspecies such as pompino, were the only waters commodies which was under exploitated(99%), while the other commodities (big plagic species, demersal and shrimp) were overexploited. There were seven potential locations for fish cage culture develoemnt, i.e SelatAir Hitam, Selat Panjang, Selat Asam, Selat Morong Rupat, Selat Bengkalis, Selat Suir,and Selat Sodor. The potency of those location was approximately 8625 unit (1 unitconsist of 4 cages of 5x5x4 meter). The potency of pen cockle culture was about 400HA located at the Selatbaru and Anak Setatah beaches.
