THE EFFECTS DENSITY TOWARD GROWTH AND SURVIVAL RATE OF MOTAN (Thynnicthys thynnoides Blkr)
Abstract
This research aim, to understand of effect of density toward growth and survival rate ofmotan fish (Thynnichthys thynnoides Blkr). Fingerlings were oftained from Kampar River(10,35 – 10,43 cm SL). Fingerlings were adapted for 14 days before they were cultured inthe floating net cage. The treatments applied were 40, 50 and 60 fishes/m3. Fishes werereared for 4 months and they were fed on fish pellet, 3 times/day. Results show that thebest results was obtained in density of50 fishes/m3 with absolute growth weight 8,61g, daily growth rate 0,54 %, absolute growth length 2,43 cm and survival rate 100 %.
