Pengukuran Indeks Kompleksitas Produk terhadap Produk Pressed Part Berbasis Informasi Produk (Case Study: Bracket Air Box Component)

Abstract


Product complexity index is an indicator of a manufacturing product that describesthe products are designed and manufactured with a level of complexity. In thisresearch, measurement of product complexity was conducted on pressed partproducts, particularly on automotive component products. Measurement conductedon the variable of pressed part product complexity based on features of the productsand specifications of materials, shapes, geometry, tolerance, general surface finishand hardness. The method in this project was introduced by ElMaraghy and Urbanic,where the measurement is based on absolute quantity information, diversity ofinformation, and content of product information. The results of product complexitymeasurement indicated that the product of original Air Box Bracket Component hadproduct complexity index of 7.96. While the results of product complexitymeasurement indicated that the product of redesign Air Box Bracket Component hadproduct complexity index of 6,98.
